Events and Activities for men
We offer a number of groups specifically for men to socialise and grow in faith together.
Men’s Curry NIght
The first Thursday of every month is a chance to have a great night out.
Held in the church, there is food, drink and then a speaker for the night will inspire, with time for discussion afterwards.
They get started 7:30pm but you can arrive later. Contact the Curry Night Team to know more.
A donation for the meal is welcomed on the night.
Up and coming flyer can be found via the calendar and events page.
"The aim of the Newark Group is to promote fellowship among all the men of the parish."
Newark Group events regularly attract 50 or more men to their meetings in the Good Shepherd Hall, with fantastic meal and speaker.
Friendships have been formed over many years and relationships strengthened. Or if you prefer, a lot of good blokes have got to know each other.
We try to look beyond our own 'men only' activities. You may have heard us - and several ladies - carol singing round the village on behalf of charity. Our Parish Quiz Night is also open to all.
Men’s Bible Study
On other Thursdays, a small group of men of all ages meet at the Church of the Good Shepherd to read a bible passage and reflect on how it may apply to them and life.
at present we are meeting on zoom
Starting at 8pm for just over an hour. Our churchwarden Matthew Ryan gives out the zoom code on a weekly basis.
